Belgium is not short of places to visit if the agenda of your medical procedure permits, with exciting cities, fine architecture and places of historic interest on offer. Additionally, the country offers fine food, excellent beer and some of the world’s finest chocolate; all things you might want to get your fill of prior to treatment, especially if its dental, gastric or cosmetic surgery that you are pursuing.

Brussels, the country’s capital city, is famous for the Grand Palace, an area around which renowned sights such as the Manneken Pis statue and the Comic Strip Centre can be found. Museums covering ancient and modern art are also worthy of a visit if schedule permits.

Antwerp meanwhile is the place to see splendid architecture with a variety of mansions and wonderful medieval castles on offer. Galleries and museums are also plentiful, with the Royal Museum of Fine Art among the more notable.

Bruges, with its laid-back atmosphere and pleasant pedestrianized center with charming old streets and buildings, is also highly worth a visit. After checking out the views over the city from the Central Belfort, a trip to the Groeninge Museum and the 14th century Stadhuis are recommended.
