Mexico Plastic Surgery - Mexico Cosmetic Surgery
Mexico has always been a popular tourist destination and is now a fast growing competitor in the worldwide market for medical and cosmetic tourism. Offering qualified doctors, many of them having trained in the US, Mexico’s cosmetic surgeries are usually far cheaper than those found in the US or Europe.
Being so close to the US is one of the reasons Mexico has become an easy and pleasant place for American patients to come for cosmetic surgery. In most parts of the country, hospitals feature state of the art equipment and modern technology, just as patients would find at home.
Surgery can be undertaken in most of the main tourist areas, with the most popular being Cancun, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. The most common procedures include breast augmentation, chemical peels, face lifts and liposuction, but almost any kind of cosmetic and corrective surgery is available.
Typically patients can expect to save approximately half what they would pay in the US for procedures. In addition, post-op care is usually of a far greater standard, with patients often staying in large private hospital rooms for days, whereas they would have been sent home far earlier in the US or Europe. Patients remain under the surveillance of highly trained staff who give them constant care and attention they deserve.
Mexico has a very well-developed tourist infrastructure, with countless hotels and resorts throughout the country in its many beach resorts that also feature culturally intriguing attractions such as Mayan ruins. Packages can be arranged that include accommodations, flights, treatment and post-operative care, while the money saved can be spent recuperating in a stunning and pampering environment.
There is some risk of contracting malaria in rural areas, but risk diminishes in the more popular resorts. Visitors are reminded to take appropriate precautions, although no vaccinations are required. Patients should not plan to sunbathe or drink heavily whilst recovering from surgery. Diarrhea and dysentery are also minor risks, and travelers are urged to be careful when choosing which food to eat and to always drink bottled water.
