Poland Health & Safety

Poland can present a number of dangers to visitors lacking in street sense. Warsaw, in particular, harbors pickpockets in busy areas so be sure to keep your cash and valuable items in secure places. Pay attention to your bags and wear them in a manner that makes a snatch and grab scenario less of a possibility.

Although Poland is a part of the EU, visitors cannot presume that standards of hygiene in public eating and drinking establishments are in line with those they are used to in their own countries. It’s wise to use an element of caution when choosing restaurants and to avoid street vendors or obviously unsanitary establishments.

Poland has no epidemics of serious viral illnesses although HIV and other STDs are present and visitors engaging in physical relations during their stay should take necessary precautions against such infections.
