Hospital costs in Spain are considerably lower than in many other European countries and certainly than in the US. Obviously, the prices range depends on the hospital and service, but in general, Spain is one of the easiest countries to find prices that apply across the board.

Typical treatments plus flight and accommodation can be carried out for a fraction of the cost in North America. Hip replacements cost about US$12,000 compared to US$20,000 in the US, while bypass surgery, US$16,000 as opposed to US$30,000 in the US. Add to this highly trained professionals, highly reduced waiting times and a welcoming atmosphere, and Spain could well be worth the trip across the ocean.
