There are few health and safety concerns in Spain. The Mediterranean climate poses little threat of air born diseases and sanitation throughout the country is of the highest level.
It is advisable to keep personal belongings safe and be on the look out for pick-pockets, but the risk of robbery is no greater than in most other European countries. Despite recorded outbreaks of bird flu and BSE, the threat of human contraction is extremely low.
