Koh Samui Medical Tourism

Koh Samui is one of Thailand’s largest and most popular islands. There are a number of clinics and hospitals here offering top quality medical facilities, allowing medical tourists to combine saving money on their chosen medical procedure with a week in a tropical paradise.

There are a large number of English speaking medical professionals practicing in Koh Samui’s top medical institutions. Doctors have been trained to Western standards and tend to specialize in dentistry and cosmetic surgery, although a number of other modern medical procedures are available on Koh Samui in leading private hospitals and clinics.

Koh Samui’s private hospitals and clinics are used to receiving medical tourists and many have designed packages to suitably deal with the needs of the patient. Packages include several nights at a luxurious resort, a full health check-up and top of the range medical insurance.

Bangkok Hospital Samui is one of the island’s leading medical centers, featuring English speaking medical staff as well as a clean, modern environment. The hospital is divided into a number of specialized clinics including the Brain and NeuroSurgery Center, Ear Nose Throat Clinic, Dental Clinic and Beauty Center.

Other medical centers offering a good range of quality procedures include Samui Hospital, Samui International Hospital, Bandon International Private Hospital and Thai International Hospital Koh Samui, the latter which has an around-the-clock emergency center. All of these hospitals and clinics offer a good range of procedures for a fraction of the cost patients pay in the Western world.

Getting There

Koh Samui has its own airport, so getting here is straightforward. Although the island’s airport is only a domestic airport, Bangkok Airways provides regular flights to Koh Samui from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, the country’s main air gateway, taking just under two hours. The international airport in Bangkok provides European, US and Middle Eastern connections among others.
