Vietnam Medical Costs
Ho Chi Minh City is currently the centre of Vietnam’s medical tourist industry with over 50 surgery providers in operation, of which 45 are specialized private clinics and eight are regular hospitals with resident or visiting surgeons and in-house surgical equipment. Additionally, a purpose-built medical tourism resort called Medicoast is now open at the coastal town of Vung Tau. Visitors can take advantage of complete holiday packages offered by the resort with accommodation, surgical procedures and recreational activities included in the price.
Many of Vietnam’s cosmetic surgeons are educated and trained overseas, and this combined with modern facilities ensures high standard of treatment. The added appeal is the low cost in comparison with treatment in the US or Europe, with prices up to 70 per cent cheaper. Rhinoplasty typically costs around $US250, eyelid surgery comes in at around the same price and hair transplant procedures typically cost up to $US1,500.
