Vietnam Health & Safety

As a developing country, Vietnam’s medical facilities don’t always meet international hygiene standards and this may be of concern to some visitors. It is, however, possible to avoid locations and establishments where cleanliness might be an issue. Most visitors choose an establishment that is dedicated to serving the needs of health tourists. Health and safety standards at the majority of clinics offering surgeries are not questionable.

Upmarket hotels and restaurants in Vietnam rarely present risks to health. The streets of Vietnam’s major cities are generally safe, although pickpockets and similar opportunist thieves maintain a presence in busy areas. Roads can be chaotic so it’s wise to exercise extreme caution when venturing as a pedestrian or in a vehicle.
