Bengals Ripped in NFLPA Survey; Treatment of Family Members ‘Almost Disrespectful’

Concerns Raised Over Bengals’ Family Treatment in NFLPA Report

A recent report from the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) has spotlighted the Cincinnati Bengals’ ongoing struggles in addressing the needs of players’ families. This is the second year in a row that the Bengals have been ranked at the bottom of the league in this important area.

The NFLPA revealed that the Bengals are unique in the league for not offering daycare services or a designated family space during home games. This absence of essential accommodations has drawn significant criticism from players, with one remarking that the situation feels “almost disrespectful.”

The team received a troubling grade of F- in this regard, with players rating the postgame family area a lowly 4.69 out of 10. Additionally, reports indicate that the Bengals “rarely” host events for families, further underscoring their deficiencies in this domain.

This isn’t the first instance where the Bengals have faced backlash regarding their treatment of families. Last season, players voiced their concerns over the need for improved facilities, including a warmer space for family gatherings and childcare options during games. Despite these repeated requests, the organization has yet to make any substantial changes.

On a more positive note, the Bengals did experience a slight improvement in their overall ranking in the NFLPA survey, moving up from 26th to 24th place. While the team received favorable evaluations in areas such as coaching, travel arrangements, and training staff, they continue to lag in providing quality food options and addressing the needs of players’ families.

It’s evident that the Bengals still have a long way to go in making players and their families feel appreciated and supported. These findings hopefully serve as a wake-up call for the organization to prioritize the welfare of their athletes and their loved ones in the upcoming seasons.
